Not to derail the thread, but isn't Ryan Tucker the guy that beat some guy up at Big Dogs?

Yes

I have read that she never wanted to do this song, but I am thankful she did. This is the best version of it, as well as the best song she did, in my opinion...

Paul Dawson, 2015-16 Bengals (I think this is the only example of two Frogs wearing the same number for the same team) ...

Justin Rowland #47, 2nd row about 1/3 of the way across from the left, 1961 Vikings

Egypt Allen was one of the six players suspended by Wacker during the "living death penalty" era of the mid-80s and played in 6 games, 3 as a 'scab' replacement player, during the 1987 NFL season, wearing #47 for the Bears.  A couple of ignominious bullets on the resume.  I can't find a picture of him.

Image result for jim busby chicago white sox

In the first of 12 appearances on the countdown is Jim Busby who wore #47 in his 1950 rookie season for the White Sox.  Despite a journeyman 13-year career where he wore 12 different numbers for 6 different franchises, you can find damn few pictures of him with his actual jersey number revealed.  So I'll just try to find a picture on the right team from the right year and you'll have to take baseball-reference.com's word that he actually had the number on his back ...

Really enjoying these record labels....

They get even better in the 30s and 20s, in my opinion. Even the major labels have a much more elegant look to them. I will see what I can dig up for some more obscure labels; I know of a country tune that was done in one of the Houston based studios as a candidate for #46. There were a lot of blues recorded in San Antonio, Houston and Dallas through the next 10 or so, too.

I have to sneak one blues tune in, and I feel that this is a worthy one..

memphis-slim-got-the-blues-hytone-78-s.j

This probably isn't her finest, but it is a tune that I laugh at every time I hear it. (Of course, we will be revisiting her for a more traditional and honest effort later.)

Stone+Cold+rt.JPG

Simply country music perfection (and the version that he performed on television in 1961 was also a great rockabilly-flavored take on it)...

And for something a little further down the rabbit hole...

(Also, it is worth note that Gold Star was responsible for giving a certain Houston-area blues musician by the name of Sam Hopkins his more famous "Lightnin'" moniker when he recorded for them in 1947. Gold Star is still an active studio, currently called SugarHill.)

Image result for bruce alford buffalo bills

Bruce Alford, Jr., 1968-69 Bills.  This appears to be a made-up article from some guy's (or lady's, don't want to be sexist ... but probably guy's) fantasy simulation, as the Bills lost to the Patriots on November 23, 1969, 35-21 ... no field goals were kicked and both teams stood at 3-8 after the game.  However, it appears that he has a legit picture of Alford that he got from somewhere.  The only other picture I could find is a team photo ...

That’s actually from Pan’s Labyrinth.

I don’t think Tool made a music video for Forty Six & 2. Here they are doing a live performance from a 2014 DVD.

The US release of this was in December of 1944 on Decca. It gained popularity and peaked on the charts in 1945, though. And we have had plenty of standard US Decca labels, so I am posting this UK version released in July 1945 to fill in a different label...

The the US label for this was the standard Decca label of the last few years, and released the same year as this Australian version... (Also, I had to get a Les Paul recording credit in, because of Jimmy Page, Slash, Peter Green/Gary Moore, Zakk Wylde, etc.). And Bing was no slouch, either...

Since, in the name of more label artwork to show, I have decided to swan dive into the ocean of record companies now, it is worth noting that Aladdin (as Philo until March 1946), Goldband and Mercury formed in 1945.

The first Philo record...

One of the early (this is the lowest catalog number I have found) Mercury labels, before they changed to the style seen in other posts...

Goldband (a long running Louisiana based indy label) was the first record company to record Dolly Parton (when she was 13 years old in 1960.) Freddy Fender - because he has been mentioned frequently in the last 24 hours, and I am a Corpus native - (Bye Bye Little Angel - 1962)  was also on the label. The earliest catalog number for the label that I have found...
