I hope Hawthorne has his food truck at the stadium this year. Would love to have some good Q before the game.

I wonder if the half price items in the stadium early will include corn dogs?

We have the JUCO tackle we had to get in this class. Big guy at a big need.

The way Matt Millen gushed about our O-line and Coach Thomsen the other day can't hurt us with recruits if they were watching.  Coleman has a solid offer list with FSU, Mizzou and Iowa St and he's got 3 seasons of eligibility left which is huge.  We love to get the JUCO's who can play 3 years like Verrett, Paul Dawson and Mike Tua'ua.  Mikel Barkley and Soni Misi are two other JUCO guys we signed last year that we get for 3 seasons instead of 2.

Yep - Demercado is another for that list.

Love that Coleman will enroll in January.  Very interested to know more about his background growing up in Germany.

247 shows offers from FSU, Mizzou, UH, and Iowa St. but he also has offers from Maryland and Tx Tech.

TCU recruit Eli Williams has posted that he tore his ACL, MCL and meniscus last week. I suppose that means surgery and at least a year of rehab. Don't think we were counting on him helping next year anyway, but I hope he can successfully recover. Reportedly he is an athlete that could play multiple positions.

That's a bad blow-out.

Yeah, a really bad blow out.  I hope he recovers completely.

Horrible news. The bright side says if Max is a good as everyone thinks Eli wouldn't be seeing the field except as a backup for a few years anyway. Get him healthy and in the system and hope that he can be a major contributor in a few years.

We got a commitment from Patrick Jenkins, a 4* DT from Louisiana.  A former teammate of current Frog Earl Barquet.

Moves our 247 average to 0.8767 which is almost as high as the 2016 class...Darius Anderson was a three-star BTW...giggle.

I'd meant to post earlier in the week - and it looks like nobody has - but James Sylvester decommitted...again.

Apparently Sylvester has really under-performed this season against a low level of competition.  That comes from a 247 regional analyst, not a TCU guy.  We signed several good DE's last season, I think we'll be fine without him.

As for Hayes, I may be wrong but I think he is the 2nd highest ranked player on the 247 composite that we have ever signed (assuming he signs).  Only Justin Rogers was ranked higher.

By the way, we have a really good O-line class coming in.  Hayes is obviously the jewel of the class but Mike Nichols is ranked the 23rd best OT in the nation by 247 and is a 4* under their rankings (not the composite).  Hayes is the #5 OT per 247's rankings.  Then you have Barlow who is a huge road grader of a guard with offers from Auburn and Va Tech and a center in Tyler Bailey who had offers from USC, Oregon and LSU.  The JUCO transfer Brandon Coleman is the #6 JUCO OT and could be a starter next season.  On paper, this might be the best O-line class we've ever signed.

I get the feeling GP wants a ball-control offense that uses the run more than the pass.

Love it that TCU is finally getting a top OL class. IMO the OL has been consistently starved in recruiting and that has held back the program. Next year's line is going to have to be patched together and we could really use another JUCO or graduate who can play right away. But in 2-3 years (upper class years for Barlow, Foster and Duggan) we should be able to match the top power schools up front.

I never thought he would sign with TCU.  He may turn out to be a great player at Baylor, but, something about him tells me he would never have been the player TCU was needing.

I feel pretty confident in saying he won't be a 4* when they re-rank the kids after the season.

WR recruit Danny Gray was first team all conference, after 877 yards on 54 catches in 9 games for Blinn JC.
