New commitment this morning: Millard "Nook" Bradford, a 5'10" 180 lb safety originally from San Antonio O'Connor who played a prep season at Fork Union Military Academy this fall.  He'll be enrolled in the spring.

Also - Daimarqua Foster and Blair Conwright were both named finalists for this year's Mr. Texas Football award.

Check out Foster and Conwright's stats:  "Conwright ended the season with 105 catches for 1,540 yards with 25 touchdowns. Foster finished the season with 2,800 rushing yards and 44 touchdowns."

The coaches wanted Bradford last year but he wasn't qualified academically.  He played both ways for much of his career much like Derrick Kindred.

We got a commit from Mikel Barkley, WR from Palomar Colege.  He only played one year of JUCO ball so he has 3 yrs of eligibility left.

He’s a speedster with 10.7 100M speed and had an offer from Utah.  He was under the radar because he didn’t play at a high school that threw the ball a lot but they did wn state in the 4x100 relay.  He is a full qualifier and can enroll in January.

Barkley looks like a good pickup who can make teams pay a price if they double team Reagor.

But what we really need are junior college linebackers and defensive ends.

I think we will get Parker Workman at DE.  However, Victor Viramontes, the JUCO LB from California that seemed to be in the bag for TCU, has apparently had a change of heart and will go to UNLV instead.  Jeremy Clark of HFB just put in a crystal ball for UNLV this a.m.  Right now, all we have at LB is Wallow, Ben Wilson, Jacoby Simpson and the oft injured Montrel Wilson.  If we don't get a JUCO, they're going to have to pick up a grad transfer or something.

And mutliple crystal balls now have Steven Parker to Kansas, after the Jayhawks hired the position coach who'd secured his commitment at Tech.

Just reading the tea leaves from Jeremy Clark's posts on HFB, I think we have a silent commit from a DE committed to a P-5 school.  So losing out on Parker may not be that big a deal.  Once he committed to Tech, TCU completely quit recruiting him because of his ties to Emmett Jones and because he grew up in Lubbock and has tons of family there.  TCU just didn't think it was worth spending time and resources on Parker under those circumstances.  He truly was that rare kid whose dream school growing up was Tech.

This DE just decommitted from ASU and is now interested in us.  Wherever he goes, you will root for him if you read this story.

New commit as of Friday evening!

Parker Workman, the JUCO DE originally from South Jordan, Utah who had 11.5 sacks at Snow College last year, has now committed to TCU.

He'll be enrolled in January.

I was really hoping he was one of the silent commits that was mentioned a couple weeks ago. Workman is the perfect name for what this guy brings.

We stole a punter from Tech! Welcome Jordan Sandy. Ranked the #5 punter in the nation. Rugby style, so we'll have to adjust our formation slightly.

This makes me happy.  We really need to shore up the kicking game --- it's just been way too inconsistent.

TCU flips Tech punter, adding a specialist to #CarterBoys1

Will a kicker be next?

New commit late last night: Tony Wallace, a 5'10" 180lb JUCO cornerback from Independence CC.

Tony's a three-star according to 247, with offers from Nebraska and Minnesota.  He's originally from Las Vegas and played at Arizona as a freshman in 2017.

Given the Las Vegas/Arizona connection, I'm guessing he's friends with Adam Plant. Jeremy Modkins led this recruitment.

He'll enroll in the summer, according to 247.

He played 10 games as a true freshman at Zona and was expected to compete for a starting spot as a soph.  The Tuscon paper in the season preview last summer called Wallace the biggest loss of the off-season and they had quite a bit of attrition with the coaching change.  A few articles seem to indicate that he left for academic reasons which is supported by the fact that he won't be here until the summer which means he's going to have to get his JUCO degree before enrolling.  If he has transferred just because he didn't like the new coach at Zona, he could enroll at TCU in January.  Wallace can definitely play and could challenge for the spot opposite of Gladney or the 3rd corner position but he will have to keep his academics in order.

One to keep a close eye on, as he'll be announcing his decision and signing tomorrow:

Peyton Powell, a 6'2" 182-lb athlete from Odessa Permian.

Peyton played QB for MOJO, is a 4-star according to 247 and has a very long offer list that includes several blue-bloods.

His crystbal ball rankings right now are 1) Baylor 2) Texas 3) Oklahoma 4) TCU, but several of those CBs for TCU (including Jeremy Clark and EJ Holland) have come in the last 24 hours.

Sounds like he could play WR, CB, or even Safety if he gained 25lbs
