I couldn't even make it through the first couple of points in that first post. If you live in a glass house, don't throw bricks.

Especially if you're inside the house at the time.

Ex-Baylor frat leader accused of rape wins plea deal with no jail time

A former Baylor University fraternity president accused of rape will serve no jail time after a Waco district judge Monday accepted a plea bargain that has ignited a public furor.

In a packed courtroom, Judge Ralph Strother of the 19th District Court accepted a deal prosecutors offered to Jacob Walter Anderson in October, allowing him to plead no contest to the third-degree felony charge of unlawful restraint, and receive deferred probation. Under the deal, Anderson, who is no longer a Baylor student, will not have to register as a sex offender. He agrees to pay a $400 fine and get counseling.

Baylor and Briles granted extension by NCAA, optimistic for no major penalties

The NCAA’s case against Baylor will not be announced as previously scheduled as former football coach Art Briles has been granted an extension to formally respond to the “notice of allegations,” sources said.

Although Briles and Baylor’s defenses and responses are separate, if one is granted an extension both parties receive it.

Briles’ defense requested an extension, which means the NCAA’s response and verdict to its investigation will be delayed until sometime in April.

...

When the NCAA opens an investigation into a program for one matter, which in this case is in regards to potential Title IX infractions and the mishandling of sexual assault claims, it often finds problems in other areas.

Sources indicated both Briles and Baylor are confident no major penalty will be given, but there exists an unnerving feeling that the NCAA infractions committee could swing a hammer simply because it can.

Haven't seen anything official, but speculation Rhule may be gone to the Jets.

If that happens, I will become a Jets fan for waiting until the Carousel stopped, before pulling Rhule out of Waco.  Now they will be scrambling for someone after the best suitors have already moved on.

Rhule interviewed with New York on Sunday. The Baylor head coach had a desire to keep his interview on the down low for recruiting purposes, but it is no longer a secret that he sat down with Christopher Johnson and Mike Maccagnan.

Apparently, Matt Campbell turned down the Jets' request for an interview. I can understand their seeking him slightly more than Rhule, but both of them are head scratchers. And, I read that Mack Rhodes gave an interview on local sports radio yesterday which sounded an awful like Rhule was gone.

Not athletics, but still...

Baylor University was investigating reports of three rapes that occurred in the same residence hall in the past two months, Baylor police said.

The rapes happened in the South Russell Residence Hall on Dec. 2, Jan. 19 and Jan. 20, according to the Campus Crime and Fire Log. The rapes were reported Monday and are considered connected.

The cases involve the same individuals, according to the log. The cases were referred to the university’s Title IX investigators, the log says.

Fans react strongly to USM interviewing Art Briles, coach who was fired amid sex scandal

There was an immediate and intense reaction to Monday’s news that former Baylor head coach Art Briles was interviewing for the offensive coordinator position at Southern Miss.

While many USM fans expressed support for hiring the 63-year-old with hopes that he could turn the Golden Eagles into an offensive juggernaut, others were adamantly against it.

...

National media and football fans across the country were overwhelmingly critical of the move after news of the interview broke Monday morning.

Sounds like the administration at Southern Miss blocked the football program from hiring Briles.

I love it when bad things happen to bad people.

Did you see what he said about poor ol' maligned Art after he got his hand slapped by his administration for thinking about hiring him? Stick some stuff in your statement about Jesus and God's forgiveness and it'll get you out of a jam every time. 😉
