Read the Blogs, Damn You!!!

Recommended Posts

Anyone with a Ph.D should be required to read the blogs! Frog Abroad alone is worth the price of admission...

Let's see...there's no charge for board membership or admission..."no charge" = "free" = "nothing."

Yep...that's about what I'm worth, alright...

DUSHEE had the Frogs #1 in 2009, #2 in 2010, and #2 in 2014. He's liked the Frogs in many years. Just not this one ...

Harrumph!

I prefer to think about it as good luck like finding a hundred dollar bill.

Actually, the best I've found was 3 $20s blowing around an empty gas station. That will make you a ridiculously observant guy for awhile.

In recognition of an exceptionally large Powerball jackpot there's a new cowboy poem about winning a lottery...

The pre-bowl DUSHEE had us at 11th; in my regular perusal of the Blogs today, I was looking for an post-bowl update, but unfortunately, I wasn't able to find it.  There is a new blog up about winning the lottery though - congrats to all Frogs who won the Powerball today!

I've been formulating a blog about aging for 4-5 weeks, but I'm afraid it would be (1) of little meaning to the young'uns on this board and (2) depressing for everyone. So I probably won't. I will leave a note, though.

Post Bowl DUSHEE hasn't been published yet. I'll try to get to it this weekend. I want to do another comparison to Vegas like last season as well.

We survived the first half of the Oregon game. We can handle it!

Old Scribe, as food for thought...

My son gets incredibly upset with anyone who complains about getting old. It's something I'd regularly complain about, usually in a joking manner. He says he plans to truly celebrate all the big birthdays (30, 40, 50, 60, 70) simply to acknowledge the fact he is there to celebrate them. From his mouth to God's ears...

Your son's right on target. The word "remission" surely can affect a man's outlook on living.

That it does. He starts classes on the 25th. Hopefully this is the start of him getting on with the rest of a very long, very productive life. We are going to start talking prosthetics with the doctors in April.

He sounds like a thoughtful lad...ask him his plans if he gets to 80 (that's my next one and I can't decide how, or whether, to celebrate it)

Its not the getting old per se but the deterioration that accompanies it that we complain about.

I think you should definitely celebrate it. Getting to 80 is quite an accomplishment, and I have no doubt your close friends and family would love nothing better than to share in celebration with you.

There's a new FrogAblog. Read about poor Aunt Bertie and the outhouse varnish job by Uncle Fred.

I read it earlier today and gave it a green arrow.  Worth the time to read.

Today would have been oldscribe's 81st birthday.  If you wish, take a moment to read some of what he gifted us on the blogs over the years.  Here is a link to his last entry before he left us. It was an appropriate final entry ...
