Supreme Court decision on DOMA

Recommended Posts

I find it disconcerting that Bert and Ernie might have been intended to be living 'the alternative lifestyle'.  Scars my childhood somewhat.

Don't tell me it hadn't crossed your mind, at least as an adult

Honestly, it never did.  Of course, as an adult, Sesame Street never crossed my mind at all until these little mini-humans started appearing in my house.

Tell me about it. Although I'll take it over most other kids' TV

It's on their web site.  http://www.newyorker.com/

It is titled Bert and Ernie's Moment of Joy.

Sesame Street, by the way, in responding to questions about Bert and Ernie's relationship said that they were friends who lived together and were created to demonstrate that people could be friends even if they were different in a lot of ways.  They continued that Bert and Ernie were puppets and as such they did not have a sexual orientation.

That's a good response.
