 ... Just noting the old arguments based on resetting stuff really don't work any more! Not about whether we should have it or not.

As a retired person, what ever time the clock says the time is is fine by me!

FIVE hours in the dental chair today. Should get 14 crowns on the lowers installed over all that work in a couple of weeks now once they are laser-milled. Upper implants still coming.

I hate the dentist...nothing but a pain in the mouth and in the pocketbook.

Pains & money: Several grand of both today, certainly.

And yet, you let “Either way, gotta have the pickle” get past you like a Johnny Ray curve ball.

I have no explanation for this.  Please accept my apologies.

His best role in my opinion.  I love this movie.  Impossible to watch it and not speak like them for a week, eh?

That guy doing the bad Johnny Cash impression on the Braum’s commercials annoys the hell of me.

Pi-Pie--69299.jpg

(I have used that damn number enough today that I could easily handle some of the pumpkin in that picture.)

NOT a "damn" number...why it's downright TRANSCENDENTAL!

So, I've been passing the time exercising in my scratch gym in my bedroom (stationary bike, exercise bench, barbells and dumbbells) and in the living room corner learning shiny R programming (hybrid of R and HTML client-server programming) on my computer.

Both lead to pretty heavy "social distancing".

Haven't binge-watched anything yet. H'mmm...never did get into GoT. Time now?

And, weather not good for wilderness hiking at the moment, (but should be soonish--3 week or so). Haven't gone stir crazy yet.

A little good news for once, and the very reverse of price gouging:

Thought I'd make up some soft shackles for the boat to pass the time. (Dyneema rope shackles are much nicer than stainless steel to bump your head into and are stronger than steel to boot...plus they float if you drop them into the water while working on rigging the boat.) Tried to locate some Dyneema (extremely hi-strength, lo-stretch line) on line but right now all the courier and mail services are on hold as there is a COVID cluster (early March funeral :( ) in the regional sorting center. Anyway called up the place that makes up iceberg towing equipment. They said that the smallest they had was 12mm (1/2 in.) line but said that I could have 80 feet for free if I would show up at the shop door in a bit. I only really wanted about 20-30' of 1/4in (6 or 8 mm) but working with and splicing 12mm lines is easier than much smaller lines.

12mm Dyneema markets for ~$4-$5US/ft. Its breaking strength is 15 tons.
