Nick and Widow won their doubles match in Champiagn-Urbana 2 and 4 and have advanced to the quarters where they will play Montsi and Brown later today. Nick beat Montsi in singles yesterday 7-5, 6-2 - his next opponent hasn't been determined as yet.

For a little light reading from Purdue fans reading KFF: https://purdue.forums.rivals.com/threads/forum-killerfrogs-com.176095/ I was tempted to create an account to respond to this post but haven't yet: "They were 7-6 last year with 2 of their wins coming against Southern and SMU. They seem to think they are being disrespected by us being initially favored at home, with some saying it would be an embarrassment to lose to us. Pretty arrogant..." Reality is their best record in the past 10 years is …….. 7-6, while the Frogs have had 6 11+ win seasons in that time frame. While their best bowl win is over Arizona in the Foster Farms bowl and the Frogs have notched a Rose, Peach and 2 Alamos in that time. Makes me wonder where the arrogance lies. Anyone with an account can feel free to copy and paste me.

Great advice Doc, I started following that same plan 20+ years ago. I realized that a huge house with a swanky zip code wasn't for me. My Jeep gets me where I need to go, not as fast as a BMW but with fewer tickets. I have a debit card and one credit card in my wallet. I haven't used my credit card in 8 to 10 years. My wife allows me to carry 3 other credit cards that are expired so my wallet doesn't look so empty [truth]. Living a humble lifestyle allowed me to retire in my mid 50's. My home is paid for as are my two vehicles. Living the crazy life!

That "ode" wasn't really clever or insulting. TCU is little (small) by design - we do it intentionally. Aren't we the smallest P5 school? And "popularity" isn't really the goal - winning football games is. And it's just wrong about the supposed lack of culture or history - we're not Bama, but we've got a lot more history than Purdue does. We've got more overall W's, MNC's, Conference championships, bowl appearances, bowl W's, Heisman W's, Top 10 AP finishes and weeks in the AP poll than they do. They've got us on most consensus All-Americans, most NFL draft picks and most weeks at #1 in the AP poll. But they do own a 2-0 record against us. And they do have a history with some great QB's. There really isn't much of a TCU-Purdue rivalry and 1 game this year and another a decade from now isn't likely to generate much of a rivalry. But there's nothing wrong with trying to generate one - kudos for the effort but it needs better execution.

That is an interesting quote... We may very well be the 6th most "popular" behind those other schools simply because of our size... Popular and good have nothing to do with each other however.

I think it's a bit odd...never really seen it work before and I'm hoping we phase it out as one emerges as the leader. I definitely think it's valuable in terms of getting a guy reps, but timing is so important in the passing game.

And probably more so for opposing coaches to gameplan against, as well as make mid-game adjustments. As long as the line, backs, and receivers are in sync with both quarterbacks, I say roll on, and make the choice of which one to use mid-game. The other upside I see is that it builds experienced depth at QB for when conference play comes around.

I hate that for the kid. He's their best defensive player. That's going to hurt their defense big time. The depth chart lists a walk-on transfer from Wake Forest with no experience as the back up. If not the walk-on, then it's probably a guy who played sparingly last season and only has 2 tackles this year.

And those two road games were Duke in 2010 and Penn State in 2011. Basically, every single year, Alabama plays 7 home games, 4 road games, and a neutral site game during the regular season.

I’m as nervous as the thanksgiving turkey about this game and I’m not sure why. If we play anywhere near as good as we can we should win pretty easily.

I just hope one guy gets a really hot hand and we ride him the rest of the season. Don't care who. I just want one of them to make plays and win ballgames.

Agree, but the part about the QBs is concerning, although I trust him completely. Just seems like having two different guys at the position is inherently confusing.

Purdue's defense looks pretty weak to me. I think we should be able to score at least 30 points against them. The offense looked spectacular against Vandy but pretty pedestrian in the 2nd half (only 1 TD) against a Nevada defense that gave up 77 points to Oregon. I think we hold them to 21 points and the final score is 31-21. This is assuming of course that we were holding a lot back against UAPB and that there was a lack of focus in that game due to the quality of the opponent. Assuming we come out and play like we're capable of playing, we should win by double digits.

I don't own a credit card at the moment, other than a Sam's card for gas. It is all debit card, online bill paying and pay pal attached to my bank account. This after most of my life has been spent in huge credit card debt. I have abandoned it for the past 8 years and clawed my way out of student loan debt ($300K), debt from a small family business $100K), and credit card debt >$50K. My mortgage is the last debt at the current time. Only buy used cars and pay cash. We basically use the Dave Ramsey philosophy. Life is way better that way and we no longer live paycheck to paycheck like we did for most of my life. Of course, three of four kids are graduated from college and the last one is in his final year of school, so life has gotten decidedly less expensive for us. I would encourage everyone to get out from under credit cards. The airline miles and other stuff are not worth the risks in my opinion. Spending beyond your means becomes too easy.

If we can add McKinney, Myers, Barkley, Barber, Collins and Wallace to our UAPB lineup, I think we get a solid win. Biggest factor will be controlling the line of scrimmage. And stop fumbling.

I don't have a full list, but I did see that Brennen Wooten is now at Hardin-Simmons. In the season opener, he threw for 215 yards and 3 TD/0 INT and added one score on the ground in a 63-0 road win over Sul Ross.

Wooten must love football to spend a 5th year at a D-III school. He's paying them money to play. I also saw that former Frog WR Isaiah Graham played for La Tech against UT. He has 4 rec for 39 yds so far this season. Two years of eligibility left.

😆 The man of the hour had a sheepish grin on his youthful face, because he knew his offense had just stoked the fires of Cowboys fans across the globe. He was asked how it felt to have Jones so excited about his play-calling debut. “Well, he got my name right,” Moore said, laughing. “He used to call me Keelan. It must mean we’re doing something right.” https://www.pressboxdfw.com/kellen-had-jerry-cheering-for-more/
