Matty Mauk QB for Missouri dismissed permanently.

“I met with Maty Mauk this morning and informed him of my decision to permanently dismiss him from the football program,” Odom said in a statement released by the school. “When I met with Maty back in December, I wanted to give him an opportunity for a fresh start, but I also made it very clear what our expectations would be moving forward. After gathering information and speaking with a number of individuals this week, it is clear Maty has failed to live up to those expectations by violating team rules in recent weeks.”

Late Monday evening, a video surfaced allegedly showing Mauk snorting a white power off a table. Missouri immediately suspended Mauk while unnamed teammates rushed to his defense, saying the video was old and that Mauk had been turning his life around.

Not necessarily implicating bball players there, but:

KU police investigating alleged rape of girl, 16, at dorm for basketball players, other male students

LAWRENCE - University of Kansas police have been investigating the reported rape of a 16-year-old girl at McCarthy Hall, which houses the KU men’s basketball team and other male students.

The alleged rape and three other crimes occurred between 10 p.m. Dec. 17 and 5 a.m. Dec. 18, according to a police report obtained by The Star on Wednesday.

According to the report, those alleged crimes are contributing to a child’s misconduct, furnishing alcohol to a minor and possession of drug paraphernalia. An investigation remains open...

Police said the victim is not a KU student and was visiting residents at the dorm.

The five persons listed as witnesses in the police report are members of the Jayhawks’ basketball team: Frank Mason III, Mitch Lightfoot, Lagerald Vick, Tucker Vang and Josh Jackson. A KU athletic department administrator and two 19-year-old women were others interviewed, according to the police report.

KU coach Bill Self told The Star that some of his players “are listed as potential witnesses to an alleged incident in McCarthy Hall.”

My question is, if they weren't involved in the act, why were they sitting around watching??? That makes them just as guilty in my eyes.

LSU RB Lanard Fournette arrested for illegal gambling at Baton Rouge casino

The younger brother of Leonard Fournette has finally made a name for himself, albeit for all of the wrong reasons.

Monday afternoon, WAFB-TV reported, LSU running back Lanard Fournette was arrested on a charge of using a fake ID to gamble at a Baton Rouge casino this past weekend.  The 20-year-old Fournette was subsequently released on a $1,000 bond.

The Baton Rouge Advocate has obtained some of the details  led up to the arrest of the redshirt sophomore.

Fournette… was arrested Monday after surveillance video showed and casino personnel confirmed he gained access to the gaming floor Saturday with a different ID than his own driver’s license, according to his arrest report.

Security video showed Fournette playing at a “craps table” for 16 minutes around 1:30 p.m., before walking to the player’s services counter. Fournette then allegedly presented his real ID to the cashier for a cash withdrawal, who determined his accurate age and contacted security, the report says.

Fournette, of Slidell, was detained at the casino, but left before the officer’s arrival, the report says. When casino security asked Fournette about the incident, Fournette said he used another person’s ID to enter the casino, the report says.

Head coach Ed Orgeron is aware of the incident and any discipline will be handled internally.

A three-star 2015 signee, Fournette took a redshirt his true freshman season.  In three games last year, he ran for 13 yards on five carries.

Fournette’s older brother was the fourth overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft following an Al-American career at LSU.

I think the bigger crime is that someone named him Lanard.

Moms saw that ID around the nurses neck, and liked the 'flair'.  She asked what it was, and then named her son after it.

Texans rookie RB Foreman arrested on drug, weapon charges

Houston Texans running back D’Onta Foreman is not heading into his first NFL training camp on a great note.

According to Brian Davis of the Austin American-Statesman, Foreman was arrested early Sunday morning on charges of marijuana possession and unlawful carrying of a weapon. Foreman, a former Longhorn, was booked by the University of Texas police department.

In a statement issued to the American-Statesman, UTPD spokeswoman Cindy Posey described the events surrounding the arrest.

“(The officers) responded to a report of the smell of marijuana coming from three occupied vehicles near the southwest side of San Jacinto residence hall on campus,” the statement read. “Officers arrived on the scene discovered marijuana in each vehicle and also discovered a firearm in one of them.

“The owner of the firearm, D’Onta Foreman, was arrested for Unlawful Carrying of Weapons and Possession of Marijuana and booked into Travis County Jail. Six other male suspects were cited and released for Possession of Marijuana. None of them are UT students and they are not believed to have UT affiliations.”

Foreman was held on $1,000 bond for the drug charge and $3,500 for the weapon charge. He was reportedly released at around noon on Sunday.

Foreman, who rushed for over 2,000 yards at Texas last season, was chosen by the Texans in the third round of the draft this year. He threw some shade at the Longhorns back in February when asked about his decision to leave school early.

The Texans said they are aware of the situation and are gathering more information.

Zeke Elliott was allegedly involved in an altercation at a bar last night.  Witnesses say he punched guy and broke the guy's nose.  No arrests made but Zeke was already expected to serve a suspension for alleged domestic violence.  The guy is a great RB but when I saw him at the draft wearing that crop top suit, I thought he was going to be a problem. First the domestic violence, then the going to a weed shop on the Seattle road trip, then pulling the woman's tube top down at the St. Patty's parade.  It's a constant stream of bad decisions.

I'll give you that he's been a trouble maker since arriving in Dallas. But that domestic violence case is complete BS. They've known for a while that she was trying to blackmail him after looking at her text records saying she would do just that. The NFL is just trying to look like it's acting "tough" on the issue to save face.

And let's not forget.....

Court documents obtained by The Dallas Morning News show an exchange of texts between Elliott and his former girlfriend that refers to his anxiety about passing a scheduled drug test.

"I know you're stressed out, if you need me call me. Just do everything you can to pass your drug test tomorrow. You'll be okay. I'm here for you,'' the woman's text read.

"I'm gonna pass,'' Elliott responded.

BTW...evidence of blackmail is not proof that nothing happened.  And its also within the realm of possibility that the reported 1-2 game suspension (prior to last night's festivities) is a response to accumulated indiscretions, including those made public......and those that have not.

And.....

According to the league's personal conduct policy, a player can be punished by the NFL even if he does not face legal punishment. A first-time violation of the policy carries a six-game suspension, but it also allows for a lesser penalty if mitigating factors are involved.
